Accommodation

Each gite is capable of accommodating up to 6 guests and cots can be provided for our younger visitors.

The gites both have fully fitted kitchens and are equipped with everything you will need to take advantage of the marvellous local produce and prepare your meals at home.

The sitting areas are both well equipped and comfortable.

The bedrooms are each ensuite with modern shower rooms.

In the shower rooms care has been given to detail. Each is fully equipped and additions such as combined radiator / towel driers are in place to ensure as much comfort as possible.

Each gite has its own private patio and barbecue area.

There is a lawn for sunbathing with garden furniture and sun loungers provided.

There are swings for our younger guests and table tennis.

The gites are situated in ten hectares of land accessed by a private lane. There is plenty of space to park your car.

After a tiring day, or to aid your relaxation, you can freely enjoy use of our plunge pool.

Adjoining woodland provides further opportunity perhaps to appreciate the deer, wild boar and numerous birds of prey of our region.

Local area

Our local village is Chigné where you will find a small bar / restaurant.

The small town of Le Lude, just a few kilometres away, has a range of restaurants ranging from traditional French cuisine to high quality Italian food and with numerous reasonably priced bistros and bars offering more modest menus.

The countryside around the gites is ideal for cycling and walking.

The Loire Valley is famous for its châteaux and there are numerous attractions within easy travelling distance of Chigné.

Saumur, with its fairy-tale château standing proudly above the town, is the home to the world famous 'cadre noir' mounted military who provide some spectacular displays of equestrian skills at the highest possible level during the summer months.

Angers is a larger town with the world famous 'Apocalypse' tapestry in the château.

Le Mans - the obvious attraction here is the motor racing link. Events include the 24 hour endurance race each year, the 24 hour motorbike race also each year, the classic endurance event every two years and the numerous enthusiast weekends throughout the year.

Chinon - another Loire town with a fascinating hilltop château and a fascinating range of classic buildings and winding streets of small shops.

Activities locally are many and varied.

Golf at Baugé, Sablé or Le Mans.

There are numerous great fishing spots and licences can be bought for the day or for the week.

Water sports and sailing activities are available at nearby La Fleche.

La Fleche also offers opportunities for horse riding.

You can explore the troglodyte villages - some still lived in, others converted to museums or restaurants.

There are museums explaining the mushroom production process and liqueur production process.

The small town of Malicorne has a fascinating museum detailing the history of porcelain production in our area.

We are located within easy reach of the western ferry ports and Tours airport with its daily flights from the UK.
