For the fishing widow who doesn’t want to bivvy up or for a relaxing family holiday, we have a very comfortable, well laid out Mobile Home.

Lounge area with CD player, books, TV (English) and DVD player.

Kitchen with cooker, hob and microwave.

Double bedroom and a twin bedroom.

Shower room and toilet.

The caravan sleeps 2 and also has kitchen facilities.

The bait cabin has bait preparation facilities, fridge/freezer, shower and toilet. Keeping all the messy fishing gear away from your accommodation.

Lake and fishing

The lake was bought in 2004 and was completely emptied and de-silted. Mark, being an avid angler, restocked it with mirror, common, grass and wild carp plus sturgeon, pike and black bass.

The lake was reopened in 2009 and the lake record stands at a 44lb common carp (named Rocky by our first client who caught it). All the fish are in pristine condition and are gaining weight all the time.

Fishing is limited to 3 fishermen at a time to ensure the fish remain in good condition.
You will also have exclusivity if you book the lake, so no-one else will be fishing alongside you.
You will have complete solitude apart from the wildlife.

The lake is 5 acres with 6 swims, with a path all the way around it. It is part gravel bottomed with underwater features, islands, trees and lily pads to make an appealing environment for the fish.

The fish are regularly fed so are growing well and are used to feeding.

Fish include common, mirror and grass wild carp with lake record to date 45lb 14oz, with plenty of doubles, twenties and thirties, 4 sturgeon only, black bass, and a few small pike (NO poisson chat or cray fish).

Fishing Rules

• Barbed hooks only (no trebles)
• No braided line
• Rods to be attended at all times
• No sacks
• Particules allowed but must be prepared correctly
• Unhooking mats must be used
• Bait boats allowed
• Minimum 15lb main line

Local area

In Chateaubriant - 10 minutes - there is a market every Wednesday, the chateau – a 17th century castle in the centre of town, plus mini golf and ten pin bowling.

There is an open air swimming pool in Nozay.

One local place we would recommend to visit is Vioreau. This is a local reservoir within a 25 minute drive.
Here there is a man-made beach, pedal boat hire, showers, toilets, picnic areas with benches, forests, peaceful walks, a café/bar and restaurant plus ample of parking.
Many of our guests never bother driving to the coast after visiting Vioreau.

Other attractions include the Jules Verne museum, Planete Sauvage safari park and Zoo de la Boisseriec.

The nearest airport is Nantes or Rennes.
We can arrange to collect you and drop you off at the airport for a small additional charge.

The nearest ferry port is St Malo (1.5 hours), followed by Caen (3 hours), Cherbourg (3.5 hours), Roscoff (4.5 hours) and Calais (5.5 hours).

What a beautiful venue Thank you Pam and Mark for your hospitality and sorting out our minor problems quickly and efficiently. The weather has been amazing for April 7. Doubles all Mirrors 2x13lb, 2x14lb, 2x17lb 2x18lb plus 1x24lb, 1x30lb and a 41lb Common my own personal best. Not bad for a solo Anglers fishing days only.

Absolutely stunning, feels like heaven Jay set up and started fishing by 4pm. Fishing was amazing first time I’ve seen and caught sturgeon, Jay smashed his PB with a 45lb 3oz Common Carp and was on cloud nine for ages after. Caught 60-80 fish by far the best holiday ever. Luv the covered veranda great for eating out all the time, Pam and Mark are excellent, brought a small paddling pool for the boys.
