	Superb self catering chalet to rent near Morzine in the Alps. Ideal for both winter skiing and summer holidays in the French Alps.

	Chalet Le Sabot is a traditional wooden chalet, ideal for Summer vacations or Winter skiing holidays. The chalet has been completely refurbished, it has 4 bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, large sitting room with open log fire and two large terrace balconies. It is well positioned, situated in the beautiful Vallee de La Manche, 2 km from the centre of Morzine. For Winter: the chalet is located 600 metres from the Nyon cable car which takes you quickly into the heart of the Morzine ski area connecting you with the 650 kilometres of pistes within the Portes du Soleil.

Ground Floor

The main entrance / boot room, with WC, washing machine and dryer. Two bedrooms, one being a double with an ensuite and full size bath. The other bedroom has 2 single beds, a set of bunk beds and an ensuite bathroom with full size bath. Outside is a large deck with barbecue, large table/chairs and sunbeds.

Middle Floor

Overlooking the valley with stunning views of the mountains, this floor is completely given over to a spacious living room area with 2 large corner sofas, sofa bed, additional seating and floor cushions. A TV/Video with selection of films suitable for all ages, a playstation with a variety of games, CD radio cassette, board games and of course, an open log fire made from stones taken from the river, make for a relaxing evening at the end of an exhilarating day.

A special feature of this room are the French windows leading onto a 8x2 balcony overlooking a stream and with a spectacular view of the mountains. On the balcony is a table and 10 chairs, a fine spot for lunch or tea.

The dining area seats 12 around a large pine table. Next to this is a separate, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, gas hob, electric fan oven and a large American fridge/freezer with ice dispenser.

Top Floor

This comprises of two bedrooms and bathrooms, one a double room with its own balcony and views of the mountains, with further single sofa bed and an ensuite with full size bath. The other room has twin beds and an ensuite with a full size bath.

Morzine/Avoriaz in the Winter.

Morzine is a lively, traditional mountain town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. It is a town in its own right and not just during the ski season. It has a broad range of shops, restaurants, bars and 4 nightclubs. The skiing is mostly between the trees rising from 1000m to 2400m, with off piste powder fields in the Chamossiere Valley at the top of the Nyon cablecar. the town has many activities other than skiing including an indoor ice rink and cinemas.

Avoriaz is a purpose built resort sitting at 1800m offering guaranteed snow throughout the season. It is famous for being the snowboard capital of Europe, hosting world championship events in its dedicated snowboard park. the ski area also has huge off piste powder fields and a World Cup downhill run. Chalet Le Sabot is positioned off the road which runs between the ski lifts of Morzine and main access lifts to Avoriaz.

Morzine/Avoriaz for Summer visitors.

Morzine offers an action packed holiday any time of the year. You can go mountain biking, canyoning, white water rafting, swimming paragliding or just relax and enjoy the mountains. During July and August the cable cars are open to transport you and your bikes to the top of the mountains.
The chalet is well positioned for all of the pleasures of an alpine holiday. There is a water fall just 800m from the chalet. Lac Min D’Or is an ideal starting point for mountain walks. The lake is also good for fishing and has a restaurant (only open in high season). The town of Morzine is only 2km from the chalet and has a large outdoor swimming pool, 16 tennis courts and an indoor ice skating rink. There is a good selection of bars, restaurants, shops and nightclubs.
The chalet is also a good base if you wish to wander further afield. Montriond is a 10 minute drive and has a wonderful lake, with swimming area (suitable for children, with lifeguards), canoeing, archery and horse riding. Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) is a 30 minute drive. On the lake is Thonan Les Bains which has an amazing swimming area area on the lake with swimming pools, water slides and restaurants. Next to Thonan is the famous spa town of Evian. There is a golf course in Les Gets which is a 10 minute drive from the chalet, white water rafting in the river Dranse and the canyoning finishes 800m from the chalet at the waterfall.
