Accommodation The modern kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, American fridge / freezer, electric kettle and toaster. All the saucepans and utensils needed for every day cooking are provided. There is a washing machine in the ground floor bathroom. The spacious living room/dining area is tastefully furnished, with beautiful stone walls and large open fireplace. It has English TV, DVD player, CD player and telephone. Internet access. The dining area has comfortable seating for 6 people. Ground floor twin bedroom and ensuite with walk-in shower. Master bedroom with double bed and ensuite with walk-in shower. Large double bedroom. Bathroom with bath. A cot and high chair are available if required. |

Local area St Didier is a beautiful Provençal village with its charming restaurants, boulangeries, butchers, hairdressers, local grocery shops and post office. All this is within a few minutes pleasant stroll past the old monastery into the village. The Avenue of St Didier is shaded in the summer by the beautiful plane trees either side of the road. This is a completely unspoilt village with a Monday morning market comprising of all local produce amongst other things. Carpentras (10km) is the nearest large town has an excellent Friday morning market and a Sunday antique market. The Camargue with the wonderful wild life, wild horses, bulls and flamingos is only 90 minutes drive away. Cassis with its pretty coastal port and the sandy beaches of the coast are also only 90 minutes drive away. St Didier is particularly well situated to satisfy a wide range of interests. The local scenery is fascinating, a tapestry of Provençal villages set amongst vineyards, orchards, wide hills, gorges and high mountains, such as Mont Ventoux and the Dentellis de Montmirall. Half an hours drive away are the cultural cities of Orange and Avignon. Within a days outing are; the Luberon National Park, Marseille, Arles, Nimes, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy-de-Provence, Les Baux, Ardeche and the famous vineyards of the Cotes du Rhone. The area attracts ramblers artists, painters, cyclists, golfers, winter skiers, market browsers and wine lovers. There are several golf courses in the area. Marseille airport is 75 minutes, Nimes airport 80 minutes, Avignon airport 40 minutes and Avignon TGV station is 45 minutes. |
