From the gite you have access to two of the most scenic hiking treks of Provence: the GR4 and the GR9.
Aix en Provence - 1 hour - the city, sometimes referred to as the city of a thousand fountains, has several museums and galleries and was the birthplace of the famous painter Cézanne. Visitors can view his house and the surrounding areas that inspired the artist.
Avignon - 45 minutes - named the City of the Popes, Avignon retains the indelible mark of the Popes’ stay in the city, which was for a while the capital of the medieval western world. Avignon is commemorated by the French children's song, "Sur le pont d'Avignon".
The bridge referred to is the Saint Benezet bridge over the Rhone.
Carpentras - 45 minutes - Carpentras has been the regional market town since Roman times and every Friday, from mid-November to March, specialises in truffles.
Gordes - 50 minutes - Gordes is a very beautiful old village, perched on the southern edge of the high Plateau de Vaucluse. The stone buildings built against the base of the cliffs and those perched on the rocks above are made of a beige stone that glows orange in the morning sun.
Marseille - 90 minutes - Marseille is a dynamic Provençal city centred around the old port.
Mont Ventoux - 30 minutes - the ‘Giant of Provence’ can be seen from almost everywhere in Provence.
Vaison la Romaine - 90 minutes - this jewel of Roman Provence, surrounded by the river Ouveze, is well worth a visit.
