The area
The ‘old town’ of Cadenet, where the Pied-à-Terre is situated is very pretty with shady squares, old fountains and spectacular hilltop ruins. It is very lively all year round and less touristy than some of the more famous
villages in the Luberon. There are many excellent shops, a couple of cosy cafés and some excellent restaurants.
The Luberon Natural regional park is famous for its scenery, picturesque villages and its history. There are many music and dance festivals nearby, including the Aix Opera festival and the International Theatre Festival in
Avignon.
Avignon - the walled city with its Papal Palace.
Aix-en-Provence - with tree-lined boulevards, sidewalk cafes and designer boutiques.
Arles - with its Roman amphitheatre and medieval cathedral.
The Camargue - a National Park and Wildlife Reserve where you will find horses, Provençal cattle and pink flamingoes. The Camargue offers some of the best beaches in Provence.
Wine lovers can visit the famous Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras.
