Two cottages to rent in a tranquil rural setting near Neuvy Bouin in the Deux-Sevres department of the Poitou Charentes area of France, close to the Vendée.

This group of buildings, in grounds of over an acre nestling between two streams, is surrounded by fields with a few cows or goats for neighbours.
The two gites, set side by side on level ground, are both equipped to a very high standard and every effort has been made to give all members of the family a holiday.

Both La Petite Maison and La Chaumiere have fully equipped kitchens including gas cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine. Each has a kettle, coffeemaker, all necessary cooking utensils and sufficient cutlery, crockery and glasses for the allotted number of occupants. Each has a rear door opening onto a private terrace, with table and chairs and barbecue, overlooking the swimming pool.

La Petite Maison

Fully equipped kitchen plus a table, six chairs and a sideboard. Double doors opening onto a terrace, hallway to lounge.

Lounge with 3-piece suite, occasional chairs, coffee table, bookcase with books, a CD / tape player and a wood-burner.

Ground floor bedroom with a double bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and ensuite shower with WC.

Twin bedroom with wardrobe, dressing table and chest of drawers.

Bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC.

La Chaumiere

Kitchen / living area.

The kitchen area is fully equipped as above and has a table and four chairs.

The lounge area has comfortable seating for four, a supply of books, a CD /  tape player and a wood-burner.

Doors leading to terrace and the front of the property, stairs to bedroom and an archway to a lobby.

Outside

The 9m x 6m pool is at your disposal as are the grounds where quiet shady places can be found to sit and read, snooze or star gaze at night.

Local Area

This area of the Deux-Sevres is undulating with some wooded areas and numerous small lakes. It is ideal for walking, cycling or bird watching.

At nearby Secondigny is a plan d’eau with water based activities, a large outdoor pool and tennis courts.

12 km away at Moncoutant is Pescalis, Europe’s largest inland fishing village with 100 hectares (approx. 240 acres) of lakes and ponds.
Facilities include: equipment hire, lessons, guides and sale of equipment.
No permits necessary; open all year.

20km away at Mazieres is a delightful golf course.

There is horse riding in the vicinity.

La Rochelle and the Vendee coast are about an hours drive away.

Futuroscope at Poitiers is about an hour away.

The towns of Bressuire, Melle, Niort, Poitier and Parthenay are within easy reach.

The chateaux of the Loire Valley are also worth a visit.
