Two cottages to rent in a tranquil rural setting near Neuvy Bouin in the Deux-Sevres department of the Poitou Charentes area of France, close to the Vendée.

This group of buildings, in grounds of 1¼ acres nestling between two streams, is surrounded by fields with a few cows or goats for neighbours.
The two gites, set side by side on level ground, are both equipped to a very high standard and every effort has been made to give all members of the family a holiday. The 9m x 6m pool is at your disposal as are the grounds where quiet shady places can be found to sit and read, snooze or star gaze at night.
The owners are on site to offer any assistance if needed.
 

Accommodation:

Both La Petite Maison and La Chaumiere have fully equipped kitchens including gas cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine. Each has a kettle, coffeemaker, all necessary cooking utensils and sufficient cutlery, crockery and glasses for the allotted number of occupants. Each has a rear door opening onto a private terrace, with table and chairs and barbecue, overlooking the swimming pool.

All household linen and towels are supplied.
Swimming towels are available at an extra cost.

La Chaumiere

Living / Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen area as above, table and four chairs and comfortable seating for four. There is a supply of books and a CD/ tape player and a woodburner.

Doors leading to terrace and the front of the property, stairs to bedroom and an archway to a lobby and the shower room (shower, washbasin and W.C.).

Bedroom 1: double bed, wardrobe and chest.  Bedroom 2: twin beds, chest and hanging space.

Local Area:

This area of the Deux-Sevres is undulating with some wooded areas and numerous small lakes. It is ideal for walking, cycling or bird watching.

At nearby Secondigny is a plan d’eau with water based activities, a large outdoor pool and tennis courts.

12 km away at Moncoutant is Pescalis, Europe’s largest inland fishing village with 100 hectares (approx. 240 acres) of lakes and ponds.
Facilities include: equipment hire, lessons, guides and sale of equipment.
No permits necessary; open all year.

20km away at Mazieres is a delightful golf course.

There is horse riding in the vicinity.

La Rochelle and the Vendee coast are about an hours drive away.

Futuroscope at Poitiers is about an hour away.

The towns of Bressuire, Melle, Niort, Poitier and Parthenay are within easy reach.

The chateaux of the Loire Valley are also worth a visit.

Pricing structure (per week)

A 10% surcharge is made for single weeks mid-July to end August.
All household linen and towels are supplied.
