Fully fitted and equipped kitchen, dining area seating four and a very comfortable lounge area equipped with satellite TV, DVD and HiFi. A small library of books, games and DVDs is available in your gite. The kitchen area is superbly equipped with fridge/freezer, full sized gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and many other electrical appliances. The kitchen is generously stocked with crockery, cutlery, plastic cutlery and crockery for the little ones, glasses, pots & pans and many other kitchen and dining items. La Vieille Laiterie has a family bedroom with a separate luxury bathroom. Upstairs is full of original features and charm provided by original roof beams, exposed stonework and chesnut flooring. The bedroom is furnished and decorated to the highest standard with solid oak furniture and high quality soft furnishings. It has a double bed and a set of children's bunk beds. The beautiful bathroom has a double ended bath, a large corner shower, twin hand basins and WC. The gite looks out over the garden, swimming pool and into the countryside beyond. |

A small library of books, games and DVDs is available in your gite. The kitchen area is superbly equipped with fridge/freezer, full sized gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and many other electrical appliances. The kitchen is generously stocked with crockery, cutlery, plastic cutlery and crockery for the little ones, glasses, pots & pans and many other kitchen and dining items. La Vieille Ecurie has one double ensuite and one twin ensuite bedroom which can also accommodate an extra single bed and/or cot. The bedrooms are furnished and decorated to the highest standard with solid oak furniture and high quality soft furnishings. Our B&B operates in our luxury gites or occasionally in the main farmhouse and is available throughout the year. We have the following bedrooms full of French charm and original features available: Two spacious double rooms with ensuite shower rooms. Two spacious twin bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms. A family bedroom with double bed and children's bunk beds and a separate bathroom with shower and bath. The bedrooms are centrally heated and fully equipped with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside units and lamps. In addition we can provide a baby's cot in any of the rooms for a small charge. Fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries are provided in the ensuites and bathroom. Guests have use of the downstairs living area in the gite including comfy sofas, British satellite TV, DVD, HiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. WiFi facilities are available free of charge. Your continental breakfast is served in your gite or in the on-site restaurant and offers fresh bread and pastries from the local bakery served alongside a selection of our home made jams as well as cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9.30am. |

Outside All of our gites have private patio areas with furniture and barbecue. All guests have shared use of the heated 10m x 5m swimming pool which is fenced and alarmed. There are 3.5 acres of garden and grounds, including a children's play area. The swimming pool area has an ample supply of sun loungers and parasols. |

Local area and activities La Vieille Fromagerie is located in the department of the Vienne about 30 minutes south of Poitiers and about an hour from the coast near La Rochelle. The small hamlet of Chez Coudret is on the edge of the charming and picturesque village of Brux with its 11th Century Church and Museum. The complex is located just a few minutes from the N10 and within easy reach of Poitiers TGV station, local Airports and only a 4 hour drive from the ports of Caen and St Malo. La Vallée des Singes (Valley of the Primates) has more than 30 primate species live in this habitat. Parc floral de la Belle (Flower Gardens), an extensive array of gardens featuring thousands of plants, trees, and flowers. Futuroscope - the French cinematic theme park with breathtaking rides and attractions. Giants of the Sky - You'll be amazed at this wonderful spectacle - birds from all round the world fly over the ruins of the Bishops' Castle. Les îles de Payré Recreational Area - a large protected area with many outdoor activities; canoeing and boating, swim-golf, hang-gliding, motorbikes plus space for outdoor games and picnics. Grande Prairie Lake - Fresh water and the beach. There are beaches of sand and grassy areas beside a lake which is ideal for bathing, canoeing and sailing. National Donkey Farm. This donkey sanctuary is home to the hardy and engaging Poitou donkey. Birdwatching. The warm climate of this region of the Vienne produces a variety of flora, fauna and birds of the region. While you will see many of the same birds found in many rural areas of Britain, you will certainly also find others never, or rarely, seen there. Golf - There are all types of courses within Poitou Charentes. Moreover, the temperate climate, exceptionally long hours of sunshine and special light in our region mean that you can play at any time of the year. For those who want to put in a bit of extra practice, we have a golf driving net available at La Vieille Fromagerie. Local courses include - Golf Club Chateau des Forges, Golf du Manoir de Beauvoir near to Poitiers at Mingaloux-Beauvoir, Golf Club de Niort and Golf Club de l'Hirondelle 4km south of Angouleme. Nautilis is a mixed sports and leisure centre offering water sports and an ice-skating rink, Le Fontastier, St Yrieix Sur Charente Chauvigny - the five castles of the medieval town are a unique site in Europe. The Norée Caves are the only natural caves in La Vienne. Spectacular lighting created by local artists illuminates the caves. Strange stalagmites which look like a "chabichou" - the local goat's cheese! The 'Macaroni Hall' will enchant young and old alike. |

Optional "First Night Supper" - home cooked meal to eat in your gite. Guests have the opportunity to dine in our small restaurant Baby-sitting and childcare services can be arranged either before your holiday or whilst you are here. Caroline, our English hairdresser, is available to visit you in your gite by appointment.
