The chateau offers 5 bedrooms, all ensuite, (sleeping up to 15 people) and can be rented en bloc.

The chateau offers a shared indoor pool (3m x 11m), a well equipped gym, sauna, croquet, tennis court, badminton, table tennis and bikes to explore the countryside.

Evening Meals - We can offer either Table D’Hote or an A La carte menu, with fresh eggs (we have ducks and chickens) and home-grown vegetables and fruit.

To complement the food, we have an extensive wine list, and fully stocked bar available anytime

Services available include; linen / towel hire, baby chair / cot on request and a cleaning service.

Special events

A warm welcome is assured from your English hosts Corinne and Donald.

Holistic Therapy treatments are also available. Our qualified therapist provides Reflexology and Aromatherapy. Pre booking is advisable for these popular treatments.

Wedding buffets can be catered for. Special evenings for the bride and groom. Birthday parties.

Live band can be booked.     Just contact Corinne with your requirements.

Marrioner Cottage

The Cottage is our latest addition and is set in the chateau grounds.

Open plan ground floor.

The lounge area comfortable sofa and armchair and features the original stone fireplace.

Dining area with table and chairs.

Fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, washing machine, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, microwave and large fridge freezer.

Upstairs

Bedroom with a double bed.

Second bedroom with two single beds.

A separate bathroom with shower.

A barbecue is available on request and you can enjoy the full facilities of the chateau which include: a shared indoor pool (3m x 11m), a well equipped gym, sauna, croquet, tennis court, badminton, table tennis and bikes to explore the countryside.

Local area

Nearby Chef Boutonne (1.5km) has two supermarkets, patisseries, petrol stations, tabacs, typical French pavement cafes and restaurants.

The town also has the fairytale Renaissance Chateau Jarvazay (one of the most important in its time), with a park and a lake, for fishing.

Fishing, golf and horse riding are available nearby.

Zoorama at Chize is home to 600 European animals on a 25-hectare site, deep in the forest.

Valley of the Monkeys at Romage, brings you into contact with 30 species of monkey, roaming free in a natural environment.

Marais Poitevin (the green Venice) is a network of waterways which your can explore by boat or bike or take the train which follows the canals. It also has an ornithological park with 70 species of birds.

Futurescope at Poitiers offers a great day out with its scientific rides, for young or old.

La Rochelle is well worth a visit, a yachting port with famous twin towers. There are many pavement cafes and restaurants, serving wonderful seafood. It also has an Aquarium and super shops.

The Deux-Sevres area (in which we are located) is rich on Romanesque churches from the 11^th and 12^th century, (Ardilleux’s church is 12^th century), fine Abbeys and Chateaux.

In the nearby town of Melle you can visit the silver mines, which were in use up to the 10^th century and the largest in Europe.

Local markets are held on Tuesday in Lezay, Thursday in Sauze Vaussais, Friday in Melle and Saturday in Chef Boutonne.
