For larger groups this property can be rented together with La Laiterie and La Petite Grange which are set within the same property boundaries. Accommodation The cottage is built of the local stone (granite) and dates back to the 17th century. It has the benefit of a wood burning stove and electric heating. Comfortable accommodation includes: Lounge with English satellite TV, DVD, video, CD player and radio. Kitchen / diner fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge and microwave. Downstairs toilet with wash basin. Upstairs bathroom with WC, bath with shower over and wash basin. Three bedrooms comfortably accommodating 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single. Cot and high chair available free on request. Bed linen and towels included in price. Electricity is included in the price. There is an initial supply of logs with a small charge for more. |

Outside This lovely, well-equipped south-facing cottage has a large enclosed lawned garden, complete with barbecue, garden furniture and play equipment. The property is on five acres of land with plenty of room for the children to play or to help with the animals. There is a diversity of wild life including woodpeckers, buzzards, kestrels and red squirrels amongst many more species. Depending on the time of year you will be able to pick cherries, apples, peaches, pears, plums, walnuts or chestnuts. There is also goats cheese and eggs when they are available. |

Local area The property is ideally situated as a central base for touring and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. The north and west coasts and Le Mans are easily accessible as a day trip. There is a train service from Laval which takes you directly into Disneyland Paris. The Normandy landing beaches are less than two hours away. Le Mont St Michel is an hour away with St Malo just a little further. Visit the large market at St Hilaire du Harcouet for fresh farm produce and gifts. A short drive will take you to the market towns of Gorron and Ambrières les Vallees where all of your provision needs can be met. St Fraimbault is the premiere ville fleuri (village of flowers) of the region and is only 4km away, a wonderful family day out with flowers and a beautiful huge park surrounding a boating lake. Throughout the summer many of the villages have fetes and attractions demonstrating the rural French way of life. There are many activities available nearby including an adventure park, bird watching, boating, boules, canoeing, cycling, drawing and painting, fishing, golf, horse riding, kayaking, photography, rambling, sightseeing, swimming, tennis, walking and wine tasting. The ports of Caen and St Malo are an hour and a half away, Cherbourg and Le Havre are approximately two and a half hours. Dinard is the closest airport. |
