Meals

A continental style breakfast is included in the price of the room. This consists of seasonal fresh fruit, yoghurts, fresh croissants/bread, homemade jams, fruit juice, coffee or tea.

We are delighted to provide evening meals “en famille” if required. These consist of four courses and include locally sourced seasonal produce and wine and are available any day of the week. We can also cater for special dietary requirements as long as we know about them in advance.

Grounds

The house is set in grounds of about 2 acres with a beautiful outdoor swimming pool (10m x 5m) surrounded by an attractive terrace with sunbeds and chairs for relaxing and sunbathing.

The house benefits from lovely views across the valley and basks in sunshine nearly all day long.

You can also enjoy yourselves quietly sitting in our sheltered garden in the shade or the sun or take a stroll through the woods and fields surrounding the house. You can frequently see unusual birds, animals and wild flowers, depending on the time of year.

Art holidays

We also specialise in running Art Holidays for all abilities using our studio (converted from a stone barn). This facility is available for all our guests to use.

Now in our fourth year at Le Perchoir des Paons, the objective is to offer a relaxing atmosphere with the emphasis on enjoyment. Groups are always small, with a maximum of 8 people at one time; we also cater for non-painting partners at a reduced rate.

We are surrounded by stunning views and many of our guests simply want to take the opportunity to spend quality time painting and drawing in the extensive grounds around the house. The studio is always available for guests and on top of this we visit some of the charming villages and local sites nearby.

A number of holidays are planned for 2008 during April, May, June, September and October. Full details available on owners’ website.

We also offer slightly shorter courses for those who have limited time to spare.

The tutored groups will be for mixed abilities and formally structured, with someone on hand to provide guidance and advice. We can also offer workshops which are less formally structured, as they are primarily designed to enable you to work alongside - and interact with - like minded people.

Local area

Set in a beautiful valley in the Lot Region of south west France Le Perchoir des Paons is the perfect base to explore the area, being within 25 minutes of both the Lot and Dordogne rivers.

To the North are the beautiful Dordogne riverbanks with medieval villages, chateaux and canoeing.

South of Le Perchoir des Paons is the much wider River Lot with vineyards stretching across the river valley and you can visit the lovely town of Cahors with its historic Pont Valentre and the old town full of cobbled streets, shops and restaurants.

The room rates are per night based on two people sharing and include continental breakfast.

There is a €10 per night reduction on the above rates for a single person in a room.
An additional single bed can be provided in Rooms 1, 2 & 3 for an additional charge of €15 per night.

Four-course evening meals are available “en famille” on request for €20 per person.

Guests who stay for seven nights or more will be entitled to a discount equivalent to one nights room rate.

Group discounts are available by request.
