Sète is known for its 12km of sandy beaches, but it is also a town with a strong cultural identity, with its traditions and cuisine. Sete offers a covered market every day, weekly flea market, various festivals and traditional celebrations throughout the year. Sete is crossed by numerous canals and bridges that make this the small Venice of Languedoc. Sète is a very touristy town, especially during the summer but it is also the largest French fishing port in the Mediterranean. Which means there are many restaurants along the waterfront specialising in fresh sea food menus. |
