Les Cerisiers was built 50 years ago on the edge of the village and stands in delightful terraced gardens.
The house is on two floors and faces south down a wooded valley extending as far as Minerve.

Cooking and water heating are by electric, which is included in the rental fee - a small charge for electricity and central heating is made outside the main season.

First floor:

Principal bedroom with a double bed and storage.

Second bedroom with two single beds and storage.

Third bedroom with a single and bunk bed and storage.

There is ample hanging and drawer space and all bedrooms face south. Incoming tenants will find made-up beds with freshly laundered linen.

The garden is set on three levels and contains cherry, fig and pear trees all merging beautifully into the surrounding countryside.

The swimming pool (open June to September) is the centre of outdoor living in the summer months and is fully fenced for safety. It is set in the lower garden just a few yards from the house. Poolside and patio furniture is provided.

Beside the house is a built-in barbecue for alfresco dining.

Local area and attractions

There are many excellent restaurants in the immediate area.

Nearby activities include bird watching, cycling, drawing and painting, gourmet dining, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, sightseeing, swimming, walking, and wine tasting.

There is easy access to Narbonne, the Mediterranean, Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi.

Minerve - 4 miles - is a major tourist attraction with its history of the burning of the Cathars and the siege by Simon de Montfort.

Beaches - 10 minutes from Narbonne is the beach village of Gruissan with three beaches and the scene of the film ‘Betty Blue’.

Along the coast there are lakes that are a sanctuary for birds and boating enthusiasts.
