The 10m x 5m pool with walk in steps is fenced and gated for safety purposes, is kept spotlessly clean, and exceeds all French health and safety standards.

Local area and activities

Ventenac-Cabardes is a wine making village in the countryside but unbelievably just 5 miles from Carcassonne. With its chateau, narrow shady streets and medieval church, it has remained unchanged through the centuries.

The village has a local shop and tennis courts.

The area offers year round holiday pleasures - exploring Carcassonne or you might prefer visiting the beautiful countryside and the many villages that have remained unchanged over the centuries.

Carcassonne - 8km - is a "must visit" city - visited second only to Paris in France - it boasts the magnificent medieval walled city. Carcassonne has many good and reasonably priced restaurants.

Summer or winter there will be something for everyone in or around Carcassonne - festivals, markets, exhibitions, cultural events, music and the arts - events culinary or historical - the list goes on.

Skiing - The Pyrenees are within an hours drive for unrivalled mountainous scenery and of course the ski slopes.

A similar drive will take you to the warm waters of the Mediterranean.

A little further afield is duty-free Andorra for a little retail therapy.

There are numerous abbeys and Cathar castles to visit.

In summertime, there are pools and lakes in the area - Lac de la Cavayere is just 5km from Carcassonne and the River Aude runs close to the city centre - ideal for picnics and relaxing.

The many activities available in the local area include white water rafting, archery, riding, walking, cycling and, sand sailing.

We can provide information on the many places to visit (including children orientated), restaurants, vineyards, ski resorts etc off the tourist track, but only if needed - we are always on hand and like to be helpful but not intrusive.
