Local area and activities Peaule - 2km - is a moderate-sized village with a small supermarket (including a butcher, fishmonger and cold-meats counter), bank, garage, filing station, newspaper shop, pharmacy, bakery, post office, unisex hairdresser, restaurant and several cafes. Muzillac - 12km - is a large town with many facilities and a market. La Roche Bernard - 16km - is a quaint town with history, good restaurants (2 with Michelin stars), river trips and a pool. Branfere Wildlife Park - 6km - is a great park with lots of animals, displays and activities. Kervoyal and Damgan beaches - 20km - sandy sheltered beach good for swimming and relaxing. |

Golf: the nearest course is Golf de Caden a small 9 hole course just 9km away. There are many 18 hole courses, including some internationals, within about an hour: Golf de La Bretesche (MIssillac 24km), Golf du Lac au Duc (Ploërmel 49km), La Baule (49 km), Golf de Baden (55km) and a seaside course at Kerver (47km) Golf Club du Croisic. Carnac with port, beach, restaurants and the famous megalithic standing stones is an hour away. Just beyond Carnac is the Quiberon peninsular with dramatic cliffs and coastline of the Cotes Sauvage on one side and sheltered, sandy beaches on the other. Visit the War Museum of the 'Resistance Breton' at St. Marcel, Malestroit where exhibits include armoured cars, cars used by the liberators, weapons, uniforms and documents, a Sherman tank and a recreation of an American Camp. Attend one of the many Breton Festivals and get caught up in the spectacular beauty and exuberance of the occasion. |
