The ground floor is open plan.

Fully fitted modern kitchen with gas cooker (4-burner hob / oven & grill), microwave, fridge (with freezer compartment), dishwasher, electric kettle and coffee machine. It is fully equipped with ample crockery, glasses and cooking utensils.

The dining area has a dining table and chairs for up to 6 people.

Lounge with original wooden beams, magnificent inglenook fireplace with a log burning stove, comfortable settee and armchairs, DVD player and English satellite television. There is also a stereo (CD) radio and internet access.

All the bedrooms are furnished with wardrobes, chest of drawers and electric heaters.

Duvets, blankets and pillows are provided.

Bathroom – newly fitted, bath with integral shower and washbasin.

Outside

The Stables are located in the middle of the Longère adjoining the Dairy and our house. It has its own private gravelled patio with barbecue and garden furniture and enjoys use of all the shared gardens and grounds.

A laundry room with washing machine is in a nearby outbuilding. Clothes airer, iron and ironing board are provided in the gîte.

The games room is housed in one of the outside buildings with pool table, table tennis and darts.

The swimming pool (11.2m x 4.2m) is heated and open from the end of May until mid/end September. It is fenced and conforms to all the rigourous French safety standards. The depth of the pool varies from 0.9m (with step entry) to 2m. It uses a non-chlorine system (active oxygen – just like swimming in fresh water) There is a paved and decked terrace around the pool with sun loungers.

Badminton rackets and fishing equipment are available for your use and there are children’s swings and a climbing rope on a very large grassed area also suitable for ball games.

Ample off-road parking and covered area for bicycle storage.

Bike hire is available on site. The property is situated beside the Nantes/Brest canal towpath which offers 365km of flat cycling.

The swimming pool, games room and laundry room are shared with the two other gites on the property.

Local area

The nearest village is Neulliac - 5 minutes - which has a boulangerie, chemist, bar and a pizzeria.

Pontivy - 7 miles - once known as Napoleonville is a thriving market town with a full range of services, shops, hyper and supermarkets, bars, restaurants and other tourist amenities.

The Lac de Guerlédan - 10 minutes - is a large man-made lake with 3 safe sandy beaches and wide range of water sports.

The property has direct access to the River Blavet and the Nantes-Brest Canal so that you can enjoy a walk or bike ride along the towpath or fish in the river or canal.

There are tennis courts at Mur de Bretagne and horse riding at Kergrist.

There is a 9-hole golf course just south of Pontivy at Rimaison and 18-hole courses on the north and south coasts at Val St André near St Brieuc and at Baden Baden near Vannes.

Visit St Brieuc and Perros Guirrec on the Granit Rose coast to the north and Carnac and the Quiberon peninsular to the south.

Towns within a 2 hour drive are Josselin, Quimper, Rennes and St Malo.

The ferry ports at Roscoff and St Malo are less than a 2 hour drive away, Caen and Cherbourg 4 hours and the Tunnel about 7 hours.

The English owners, Charles and Kath, live on site and are ready to welcome you on arrival and offer any help or advice during your stay.

Bed linen is available on request at a cost of 8 euros per bed per week.

A cot is available free of charge.

Electricity is metered and charged at 0.15 euros per kwh.
Firewood is charged by the cubic metre.

We welcome well behaved dogs – it’s a doggy heaven here with so much space to roam in and miles to walk along on the canal towpath only 100 metres away.
