This pretty Breton stone cottage is situated in the hamlet of La Roche Landau, just outside the small village of Ruffiac, in stunning French countryside surrounding the medieval town of Malestroit in Southern Brittany.

Accommodation

The cottage consists of an open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge.

The kitchen is well equipped with washing machine, fridge / freezer, microwave and gas cooker.

In the lounge there is a TV which has English satellite viewing, video and CD player.

Upstairs there is a double bedroom, twin bedroom & shower room.

Hairdryer and iron are provided.

A high chair and cot are available on request.

Outside

The cottage is set in its own private garden which has a children’s swing area and gorgeous views over unspoiled countryside.

A barbecue and patio furniture are supplied.

A small splash pool is shared with the Walnut Tree Cottage (ref: 5626 hhf).


Local area

Malestroit, a beautiful medieval town situated on the Nantes-Brest canal, has numerous restaurants around a central square. Bicycles or canoes can be hired locally.

Nearby at St Marcel is a Museum dedicated to the memory of the Resistance.

In la Gacilly stroll through its tiny streets packed with the workshops and galleries of the local artisans. The town is adorned with the most spectacular floral displays and there are plenty of restaurants situated along the banks of the canal. La Gacilly is also home to the famous Yves Rocher perfume factory.

The pretty fishing port of Vannes can be found on the Golfe du Morbihan. There are boutiques within the town walls and many restaurants around the Marina. Boat tours are available to visit the bay and the islands. This area of coastline offers some of the worlds most stunning sandy beaches.

Josselin - famous for its cliff top chateau is well worth a visit. The chateau, though still a family home is open to the public and is full of priceless antiques of the Revolution. Lunch in the restaurant overlooking the river and chateau or in the cafés around the church square.

Other towns to visit are Rochfort-en-Terre, la Roche-Bernard or La Baule (the St Tropez of Brittany).

Lac du Dac has a man-made lake and beach where you can hire pedaloes and canoes, play golf or simply swim in the safe clear water

Hire bicycles, take the sculpture trail at Reminiac or visit the ancient Monolithic village and stones in Monteneuf.
