Outside

The Brittany gites at La Marette have a lovely orchard area with seating.

There are areas for children or more energetic amongst us, with goal posts, badminton net, trampoline and boule.

Barbecues are available for guests to cook alfresco.

Alfresco meals can be eaten in the orchard or on your own private south facing patio area outside your gite.

Gites with a difference - Plat du Jour

Although our gites are beautifully equipped for self catering, in high season we offer a 'Plat du Jour' (dish of the day) every evening of the week (except Sunday) which will be prepared by the owners from wonderful local and home produced ingredients and delivered to your gite before 6pm in the evening.

If you have a special occasion we can cook something special for you by request.

Out of high season catering can be provided by request.

Bed and Breakfast (available October - June inclusive)

Stay in the high quality stylish ensuite bedrooms at La Marette in your own cottage.

Continental breakfast is included and a third night is offered free when you book for two nights.

Dinner on arrival can be arranged and if you have a special occasion a celebration meal can be cooked and delivered to your own dining room.

Local area

The local village of Caulnes offers all of the day to day conveniences with a supermarket, café, post office, bank, petrol station and bakery.

There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool open during summer months at the local village of Broons, which is only a few minutes drive away from the gites.

Dinan, port and ancient town, - 20 minutes - is undeniably one of the most exquisite cities of Brittany. Still entirely surrounded by its ramparts, inside there is a belfry, churches and convents, many timbered houses and narrow streets to explore.

Cancale, along the coast to the east of Saint Malo, is a picturesque fishing village popular with visitors many of whom are drawn by its reputation as the oyster capital of Brittany.

Le Mont St Michel, a world heritage site since 1979, had its first monastic settlement in the 8th century.

Rennes, the capital of Brittany, has many shops and restaurants scattered throughout the faithfully restored streets and squares.

Dinard - a well established seaside resort offering clean beaches, activities, boat trips and even a casino.

Jugon les Lacs is located in a small valley on the shore of a beautiful 4km long lake.

The many activities on offer include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and pedalos, angling, mountain biking and cycling or for the more leisurely just rambling in the wooded countryside.

The port of St Malo is 50 minutes away, Dinard airport 30 minutes, Rennes airport 40 minutes and the north coast of Brittany only 45 minutes away.
