French doors from the ground floor lounge area lead out into its own exclusive courtyard to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

The Garden Gite

Doors lead out onto an exclusive, decked patio area with table and chairs in the tranquil garden with exceptional views of the Pyrenees mountains.

Large, first floor double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and space for a child’s foldaway bed.

Outside

Both gites have use of the secluded garden, which is surrounded by the typically French countryside.

There is an attractive swimming pool at the far end of the garden and stunning views of the mountains.

There are tables, chairs and sun-loungers by the pool and guests have use of a barbecue.

Local area and activities

The gites are superbly located in the quiet village of Issor, with just a short stroll over the pretty stream to the bar/café and shop.

10 minutes drive to the picturesque town of Oloron-Sainte-Marie with a good choice of supermarkets, boutiques, cafes and restaurants and a typical French market every Friday.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars located nearby.

The beautiful city of Pau is 50 minutes from Issor.

Biarritz on the coast is 1.5 hours away.

Lourdes is only one and a quarter hours away.

The Pyrenees is a natural wilderness accredited with National Park status. Mountains, lakes and forests combine to create a landscape which nature and wildlife enthusiasts will admire.

There are an abundance of tracks for mountain biking.

There are numerous white-water rafting and canyoning centres in the area.

Golf - continental Europe's oldest course is located at the city of Pau.

Fishing - the mountain streams are well-stocked with plump freshwater fish. International salmon and trout fishing tournaments are regularly hosted here.

Skiing - we are just 35 minutes door to door, from the beautiful ski resort of La Pierre Saint Martin. At a height of 1650 meters, La Pierre Saint Martin is a ski resort with a magnificent landscape. It has a lovely village nestled in a beautiful pine forest. It's a perfect place for everyone to ski, families and children.

For visitors who are touring on motorbikes or driving, the northern Spanish ferry ports of Bilbao and Santander are just over 3 hours and 4 hours away respectively.

Airports in the area are: Pau (50 minutes), Lourdes (75 minutes), Biarritz (90 minutes) and Toulouse (2 hours).

A travel cot can be provided on request for babies and toddlers.

Out of season (September to June) discounted rates available for Courtyard Gite for smaller groups.
