Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot - 5 minutes - for general stores, boulangerie, chemist, tabac and supermarket.
Villeneuve-sur-Lot - 15 minutes - has all facilities including banks, restaurants, cafés and shops.
The countryside here in south west France is a land of sunflowers and medieval towns, of caves and rivers, of vineyards and plum orchards, of castles and quiet lost villages, of sunshine and tradition
and of miles of beautiful unspoilt scenery.
The area is noted for its famous “Pruneaux d’Agen (prunes), which bear little resemblance to what one might find in an English pudding.
The Lot and the Garonne rivers provide pleasure boating and attractive walks.
There is a large fishing lake at Ste Colombe, just south of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, and large carp and trout can be found in the nearby river Lot. For big game fishing you can travel to Arcachon and Cap
Feret.
Quad bikes and motorcycles are available for hire along the main road to Villeneuve.
The more adventurous can try their hand at flying a micro-light at nearby Grange-sur-Lot.
Golf - Villeneuve-sur-Lot golf and country club at Castelnaud-de-Gratecambe is about a 20 minute drive from the gite. This 27 hole championship golf course has a driving range, club house and
excellent restaurant facilities. There is also a swimming pool and tennis courts.
There is also a 9 hole course with practice area and pro shop at Tombeboeuf.
There are numerous caves and grottes in the area. The nearest, the "Grottes de Lastournelle" are only about a fifteen minute drive away near Villeneuve.
Le Temple-sur-Lot - 8km - which as its name suggests, is by the river Lot and has connections with the Knights Templar. In more recent history 'Le Temple' is more famous for its association with Claude Monet.
Airports - The nearest airport is at Bergerac (1 hour) and Toulouse Airport is 1 hour 45 minutes away.
