Cottage accommodation

The Cottage has been renovated and tastefully decorated throughout. It features stone walls with solid oak beams and retains all its old charm and character.

A large farmhouse style open salon and kitchen with modern storage units, gas cooker, family size fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and coffee maker. There is a log burning stove set into the original fireplace and an electric convector heater.

Up the stairs there is a large open plan mezzanine style bedroom area which is divided into two separate and distinct sleeping areas by the bathroom.

The bathroom is fitted with a large shower, wash basin, bidet and W.C.

One sleeping area has a double bed and the other is equipped with 3 single beds.

All bedrooms are equipped with wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside lamps and hair dryer.
A cot and stair gates are also available in the cottage.

The cottage has its own wisteria shaded patio, terrace and garden area with patio furniture and own barbecue.

At the front of the property is a large lawned area, set with fruit trees. Clients staying in the Pigeonnier enjoy the privacy of their own pergola shaded terrace with patio furniture, barbecue and use of the garden.

Garden

Labarthe is set in 2 acres of mature well maintained gardens, laid mainly to expansive lawn but featuring many varieties of fruit trees, acers, a unique fox glove tree, hydrangias, camellias and perennials. It is surrounded by oak trees, walnut groves and fruit orchards.

There is a fenced and gated solar heated pool (12.5m x 5.5m) with ‘spa type’ air/water massage jets set into the steps.

There is also a solar shower and a covered pergola area for shade for those with sensitive skins.

Also provided is a petanque piste to play boules.

Art Studio

A private art studio / work shop to hide away and create.

The studio also doubles as a classroom for one-on-one or small group art lessons, design and pattern cutting or other fashion related educational courses undertaken by arrangement with Anita (retired ex university course leader). Contact Anita for further details on content and availability.
 

The main house is the private residence of Bryan and Anita Neal, the owners of Labarthe and is not normally available for rental, except for 2 guest rooms which can be used for additional accommodation for guests staying in either the Cottage or the Pigeonnier.

Local area

There are supermarkets, shops, bakeries and restaurants only a short drive away in the towns of Eymet and Lauzun.

The area itself is renowned for its fishing, canoeing, delighful countryside and historic buildings. It is an ideal location for walking, horseriding and cycling in peaceful surrounds.

Nearby activities include: flights on balloons, microlights, cycle tracks, quad bike circuits and 'velo rail' pedal bogies on railway tracks.

Canoes can be hired locally by the hour, half day or full day. The more adventurous may wish to try the massive river Dordogne starting next to its confluence with the river Vezere at Limeuil. The views can truly be described as world class.

The nearest international airport is  Bergerac (20km), although the airports of  Bordeaux, Limoges and Toulouse are close enough for your consideration.

There is a superb 27 hole golf course 20km west at Chateau des Vigiers on the outskirts of Ste Foy la Grande and several other courses within easy driving distance including the delightful 18 hole course on the outskirts of Villeneuve du Lot to the south.

The rental includes electricity, gas, water, bed linen and towels.
A mid week linen and towel change is available at a small extra charge to cover the laundering.

If your travel arrangements do not fit in with Saturday changeover, we can make special arrangements to accommodate you in private rooms in the main house until the Cottage or Pigeonnier is vacated.
2 private double bedrooms with separate access and en suite facilities are available as a "pit stop" at  £45 per night per room.

Part week bookings will be considered in the low periods only and will be charged at a pro rata daily rate.

A welcome pack can be arranged for out of hours arrivals – please advise us if you require this service.

Out of season bookings from November to March can be accommodated by special arrangement.

Long term lets (including all services) are negotiable depending on duration.
